[SOLVED] Adobe Reader DC runs as a Background process

[SOLVED] Adobe Reader DC runs as a Background process

For some reason, one day, when I double click a PDF file, Windows 10 only shows blue-circle
running for seconds without launching Reader DC. I then retried to double-click a PDF again,
but it keeps the same situation.
I then start up Task Manager and then I found it show as "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (32)" in background processes. Therefore, I kill the background processes and start Reader DC directly, but it remains the same situation.

I finally fixed it by the following steps
1) Right-click Adobe Reader DC file, select Properties, and then select the Compatibility tab.
2) Select Run compatibility troubleshooter.

The problem then got fixed.

I actually googled and tried the following ways to fix it for hours of time, but in vain. They don't just work for me.

-Uninstall Adobe Reader DC, reboot Windows and install the latest version of Adobe Reader DC
-Use Regedit to modfiy
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Privileged\bProtectedMode to 1
-Remove all files under DC folders under C:\users\<userNmae>
-Uninstall Adobe Reader DC, Run Adobe cleaner to clear all files for Adobe Reader.
However, the cleaner in my laptop never run completed. It always run forever and won't stop. I eventually have to kill it by task manager.
